'' Henri Bresc '', is a French historian who is an expert on the medieval period. He worked in the Sicilian capital until 1974, when he became assistant and professor of medieval history at the University of Paris West Nanterre La Défense, where he remained until 1982. Professor of History at the 'University of Nice from 1982 to 1990, in that year returned to the Paris X Nanterre, where he had the role of professor until 2008, year in when he retired and was replaced by Gabriel Martinez-Gros.
